3. Executive Session
At 6:05 p.m. Board President Vicki Coash moved to recess into an executive session for a period of 25 minutes to discuss an individual employee’s performance pursuant to the KOMA non-elected personnel exemption with Board members and the Superintendent present. Monty Hughey seconded the motion. The motion carried 6-0.The board returned to general session at 6:30 p.m. with the same people as listed above present.

Norm Wilks made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Ryan Carson, the motion carried 6-0.

2017 Butler County Farm Bureau Teacher of the Year – Carla Varner
• Director of Public Information ReportKim Koop shared that updated crisis plan folders have been ordered that will be easier to navigate and the OPAA! Interactive Menu program is now available on the district’s mobile app. Kim has been named the Vice-President of the South Central KanSPRA.• Jefferson/Lincoln UpdateChad Schuetz, Jefferson/Lincoln Principal, and teachers Tonya Cogan, Amanda Yager, Denise Carter, Carla Varner, and Judy Slayton shared information on the KansasSTAR School Improvement Plan. • State and Federal Program UpdateChad Schuetz, Jefferson/Lincoln Principal and LCP Coordinator, provided a review of the State and Federal Programs including Title I, II, IV and V programs, State ESOL and State At-Risk. • Construction Update Sue Givens reports that all steel erection is complete at both elementary sites. Construction meetings are held weekly alternating between the PAC and elementary sites. Bids will be presented in November for AV equipment at the PAC and playground equipment for Blackmore and Grandview.
